The Bible
The Bible is the infallible Word of God.
EXODUS 24:12 — And the Lord said unto Moses, Come up to me into the mount, and be there: and I will give thee tables of stone, and a law, and commandments which I have written; that thou mayest teach them.
HEBREWS 4:12 — For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
Men wrote the words of the Bible as they were divinely inspired by God.
2 PETER 1:20-21 — Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation. For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but the holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.
2 TIMOTHY 3:16-17 — All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.
The Bible is without error. It is the word of Salvation and will be true and useful forever.
PSALM 12:6 — The words of the Lord are pure words: as silver tried in the furnace of earth, purified seven times.
1 PETER 1:19 — We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts:
Sin
What is sin?
1 JOHN 4:17 — Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin.
PROVERBS 24:9 — The thought of foolishness is sin: and the scorner is an abomination to men.
Man(kind) is a sinner.
ISAIAH 53:6 — All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way;and the Lord hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.
ISAIAH 64:6 — But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags;and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away.
Jesus Christ alone provides salvation.
ROMANS 6:23 — For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
HEBREWS 9:28 — So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation.
Jesus’ blood was the sinless sacrifice that atoned for our sins.
ACTS 20:28 — Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood.
EXODUS 12:13 — And the blood shall be to you for a token upon the houses where ye are: and when I see the blood, I will pass over you, and the plague shall not be upon you to destroy you, whien I smite the land of Egypt.
Salvation
Obedience is essential to salvation.
ACTS 5:32 — And we are his witnesses of these things; and so is also the Holy Ghost, whom God hath given to them that obey him.
1 SAMUEL 15:22 — And Samuel said, Hath the LORD as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the LORD? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams.
Repentence is essential to salvation.
2 CHRONICLES 7:14 — If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.
ACTS 2:38 — Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
Water baptism is essential to salvation.
JOHN 3:3-5 — Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter the second time into his mother’s womb, and be born? Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.
ACTS 22:16 — And now why tarriest thou? arise, and be baptized, and wash away thy sins, calling on the name of the Lord.
Water baptism should be perfomed in the name of the Lord Jesus.
ACTS 18:12 — But when they believed Philip preaching the things concerning the kingdom of God, and the name of Jesus Christ, they were baptized, both men and women.
COLOSSIANS 3:17 — And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.
Jesus is the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost.
JOHN 5:43 — I am come in my Father’s name, and ye receive me not: if another shall come in his own name, him ye will receive.
ACTS 4:12 — Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.
Water baptism should be performed by immersion.
ROMANS 6:4-5 — Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection:
ACTS 8:35-39 — Then Philip opened his mouth, and began at the same scripture, and preached unto him Jesus. And as they went on their way, they came unto a certain water: and the eunuch said, See, here is water; what doth hinder me to be baptized?
And Philip said, If thou believest with all thine heart, thou mayest. And he answered and said, I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. And he commanded the chariot to stand still: and they went down both into the water, both Philip and the eunuch; and he baptized him. And when they were come up out of the water, the Spirit of the Lord caught away Philip, that the eunuch saw him no more: and he went on his way rejoicing.
The baptism of the Holy Ghost is essential to salvation.
MATTHEW 3:11 — I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance. but he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire:
ACTS 2:38 — Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
1 CORINTHIANS 12:13 — For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit.
Speaking in tongues is the initial, outward evidence of the infilling of the Holy Ghost.
ISAIAH 28:11-12 — For with stammering lips and another tongue will he speak to this people. To whom he said, This is the rest wherewith ye may cause the weary to rest; and this is the refreshing: yet they would not hear.
ACTS 19:6 — And when Paul had laid his hands upon them, the Holy Ghost came on them; and they spake with tongues, and prophesied.
ACTS 2:1-4 — And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.
The Benefits of having the Holy Ghost.
ACTS 3:19 — Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord.
ROMANS 8:26-27 — Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God.
One God in Jesus.
How many gods exist?
ISAIAH 44:6 — Thus saith the LORD the King of Israel, and his redeemer the LORD of hosts; I am the first, and I am the last; and beside me there is no God.
EPHESIANS 4:5-6 — One Lord, one faith, one baptism, One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.
DEUTERONOMY 6:4 — Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God is one LORD:
God is a Spirit.
JOHN 4:24 — God is a Sprit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.
2 CORINTHIANS 3:17 — Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.
God was manifest in the flesh. Jesus is both God AND man.
JOHN 8:57-58 — Then said the Jews unto him, Thou art not yet fifty years old, and hast thou seen Abraham? Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am.
COLOSSIANS 2:9 — For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.
REVELATION 1:8 — I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty.
Jesus is the one person of the Godhead. All the fullness of the Godhead dwells in Jesus Christ.
1 TIMOTHY 3:16 — And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifested in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.
JOHN 1:14 — And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.
Jesus is the name of the Father, Son and Holy Ghost.
ACTS 4:12 — Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven, given among men, whereby we must be saved.
ZACHARIAH 14:9 — And the Lord shall be king over all the earth: in that day shall there be one Lord, and his name is one.
